Tim Coppens is a luxury menswear brand based in New York, launched in 2011.
Since his first season, Tim Coppens has received strong support and praise from both retailers and press. WWD named Tim Coppens as “leading the pack of men’s wear names who are redefining American fashion”. Barneys New York immediately ordered his first collection and international retailers followed suit. In 2012 he received the Ecco Domani award for “Best New Menswear Designer”. The following year he was awarded the Fashion Group International “Menswear Rising Star” award. And most recently, after only 4 seasons, Coppens has been nominated for this year’s CFDA Swarovski Award for Menswear Design and is a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist.
Born and raised in Belgium, Tim Coppens graduated from the internationally acclaimed Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 1998. After graduating, he moved to Munich to design for the active luxury brand Bogner. In 2004 he joined Adidas at their headquarters in Germany to lead the conceptual development of their new high-end men’s performance division. Coppens moved to New York in 2008 when Ralph Lauren recruited him as design director for RLX, which he helped transform into one of the most fashion forward concept lines within their brand portfolio.
In 2011 he founded his namesake label which blends craftsmanship and innovation while expressing a modern vision of masculinity. Athleticism is portrayed with elegance and sophistication. The energy of New York, individuality, attitudes of defiance expressed in youth culture, as well as a pulse that feels the present and the future are sources of inspiration.
